The Ilocos Garlic, preferred by Chefs because of its distinct taste and aroma, will soon be grown in three areas in North Cotabato.
The highland and midland Demo & Trial Farms will be in two villages in Alamada town, Rangayen at 995 meters above sea level and Dado (500MASL).
The lowland Demo & Trial Farm will be in New Esperanza, Mlang (70 MASL).
The scheduled planting starts Oct. 15.
An Orientation Workshop for Cotabato farmers on Garlic and Onion Farming will be conducted in the two towns by expert farmers from Ilocos Norte.
Vetmate Farma Corp., the company which is spearheading the Garlic and Onion Programs, will buy all of the farmers’ produce.
The company will establish a Cold Storage Facility for Onion and a Curing Shed for Garlic in Mlang.
