Mango industry stakeholders will hold the last regional forum on Monday, Sept. 11, in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte for farmers in the Northern Mindanao Area.
It will be the last of the five regional consultations conducted by the Agriculture Department under the High Value Crops Program aimed at rehabilitating the country’s mango industry.
The first forum was held in Davao City on Aug. 3, then Aug. 11 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Aug. 17 in Cebu City and Aug. 23 in Guimaras.
The regional consultations take up the concerns of the farmers and stakeholders in preparation for the drafting and crafting of a 5-Year Mango Industry Development Road Map.
The Road Map is expected to be finished before the end of the year and will outline the programs to be implemented so that the country will regain its status as the producer of the best mango in the world.
Undersecretary Evelyn Laviña will handle the Dipolog City consultations.
