Learning by doing! Year-Long Experiments Improve Sorghum Growth

After over one-year since our young agricultural company, Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc. was organized with former Senator Ping Lacson as Chairman, we have finally established the correct planting and propagation protocol for our main crop Sorghum.
Sorghum is actually a wild grass species from Africa which produces grains in heads which could be used for food and animal feeds.
Through my initiation, our small company, SAAVI, adopted this as our main product as we started our venture into agriculture.
Things did not come easy though because we went through several trials and failures before we were able to perfect the planting and propagation protocol.
Yesterday, in our Demonstration Farm in Pigcawaran, Alamada, Cotabato, I saw indications that after the expensive learning experiences, we had finally established the correct planting and propagation protocol.
The Sorghum Demo Farm in an area owned by Barangay Chairman Max Arat showed outstanding growth and grains production of the Indian White Sorghum Variety.
The Sorghum with profuse heads of grains had become a head-turner with many motorists stopping by the roadside to have their pictures taken.
The beautiful sight had also resulted in more farmers in Alamada now asking us to include them in the Sorghum Production program.
Nakakataba ng puso because this did not come easy or fast.
Ang dami kong dinaanan na heart-breaking failures na kung mahina lang ang loob namin ay baka nag-give up na kami.
Our sacrifices in the past will now benefit many farmers and contribute to boosting grains production for the livestock and poultry industry.
I thank Sen. Ping Lacson and the other members of SAAVI for the trust and support in this project.
