Starting next week, we will put up in Dado, Alamada a Parabolic Dryer using UV Plastic Sheets to protect our Sorghum and Soybeans from the rain.
Ours will be an improvised version of the Thailand model which uses steel frames.
The local version will use poles and treated slats from Giant Bamboo which we intend to acquire from a local bamboo processing facility in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, the Bukidnon Giant Bamboo Resources Corp.
Just like the Thai model, we will also install exhaust fans powered by Solar Panels to suck out the moisture and hasten the drying process.
In areas where rains fall unexpectedly, drying grains had been the biggest challenge.
I hope that the UV Plastic-Covered Parabolic Dryers would solve our farmers’ age-old drying woes.
