Love of Country! OFW Sends Home Seeds Of Soybeans For Trials

About one month ago, I read a message posted in one of my articles on Soybeans trials by an Overseas Filipino Worker, Antonino Adlawan Villagorda Jr. who said he was working on a Cargo Ship which brings Brazilian Soybeans to Spain.
Dodong Villagorda said the beans were bigger than the ones that I was posting on my page which were out of the old Manchurian variety and offered to send me seeds for trials.
I did not think he was really serious but the other day, a package arrived in the farm containing 1.5-kilos of Brazilian Soybeans.
Indeed, the beans are larger than the Manchuria Variety which I had been propagating in Cotabato.
I was deeply touched by Dodong Villagorda’s actions which for me is a manifestation of the Filipino’s love for his country by looking out for ways to support agricultural advocacies like mine.
The seeds that I received will be planted in separate plots today and since I do not know what the variety is, I will call this new line of the Villagorda Soybeans.
This is my simple way of thanking and honoring Filipinos who contribute in their own little ways to our dream of developing Agriculture in the Philippines.
