A farmer from Abra, Efren Alcalde Alvis, sought assistance from DA, to sell his mango for a better price because traders coming to their locality are buying at a very low price.
The Office, through its Agri. Marketing Assistance Division provided assistance in bringing the mangoes to the Benguet Agri- Pinoy Trading Center in La Trinidad, Benguet, which were sold out immediately.
Mr. Alvis personally came to my office to express his gratitude for the assistance.
According to him, it is his first time to harvest from his more or less 250 mango trees and he does not know how to market his produce with that volume.
He was given some tips on marketing and post harvest handling as guidance for his next year’s harvest and 50 pieces of plastic crates..
