The first Regional Mango Stakeholders Forum has been scheduled for August 2 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel Function Hall in Davao City.
The forum will start at 8 a.m. and will be open to the industry stakeholders and mango farmers.
There is no registration fee and lunch annd snacks will be served.
The Davao Mango Stakeholders Forum aims to discuss the problems confronting the Philippine Mango Industry which caused national production to plummet to 400,000 metric tons from a high 1-million metric tons every year.
The second regional consultations will. E held in Pangasinan on Aug. 11 and Cebu City on Aug. 18.
A fourth regional consultations will be held in Iloilo before the end.of August.
The venue of the remaining three Stakeholders Forum will be announced later.
Mango farmers, contractors and processors are expected to attend the series of forum.
At the end of the regional consultations, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) will craft a 5-Year Road Map which is expected to bring back the Philippine Mango to its glory, the reputation of being the best tasting Mango in the world.
