Starting today, Mindanao, Panahon Na!, a radio program I launched on Jan. 11 to discuss issues related to the Presidential bid of Rody Duterte, will go Island-wide.
A total of 24 radio stations will now air the radio program with the addition of 18 more radio stations belonging to the Radyo ni Juan network.
The program will now be heard even in the Island-Province of Palawan.
Aired Monday and Tuesday at 11 a.m., Mindanao Panahon Na! was originally just aired over six radio stations including three major stations owned by the Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation – DXND, DXMS and DXOM – and carried by three other stations – DXJJ Nice FM, WOW Radio and Manny Pacquiao’s DXBB Radyo Alerto.
All of the six pioneering carriers of the program are heard over the Central Mindanao Region and the results are very encouraging.
When I started the program in January, Duterte was only rating 47% in the region with 2-million voters.
In the latest regional survey conducted by the Laylo survey firm for the newspaper The Standard, Duterte’s ratings jumped to 67%, a rise of 20 percentage points.
This proves the power of the rural radio in clarifying issues and influencing the minds of the Filipino voters.
Next week, I and my brother, retired police colonel Patricio, will start a separate broadcast for the Ilonggo-speaking region of Western Visayas to cover the provinces of Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Iloilo, Antique, Capiz, Aklan and Romblon.
Simultaneously, another broadcast using the Cebuano language will also be aired in Siquijor, Bohol, Biliran, Cebu, Leyte, Samar and Masbate.
My brother, Pat, and I are blessed with the ability to speak in multiple languages having been born and raised in Mindanao and this actually is very helpful in conveying the message to the different regions of Mindanao and the Visayas.
Hopefully, these broadcasts will further give voters an idea of who really is Rody Duterte.
With God’s grace, I am confident that Duterte is well on his way to becoming the next President of this country.
