Mission accomplished! FILIPINA DOCTOR WRITES ICON AUNG SAN SUU KYI By Manny Piñol

Before I left Davao City Sunday to join the delegation of President Rody Duterte in his Official Visit to Myanmar and Thailand, my younger daughter, Josa Bernadette, a medical doctor, gave me a letter which she asked me to give to Myanmar’s democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyii.
Su Kyii, who is now State Counsellor of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, met with President Duterte this afternoon in the Presidential Palace at the end of a one-day Official Visit of the Philippine President to the country.
In a unique political set up where the State Counsellor is more influential than the President Htin Kyaw, Suu Kyi, is considered as the head of State.
After the meeting with President Duterte, I was able to approach State Counsellor Suu Kyi, who earlier asked a lot of questions about agriculture in the Philippines directed at Philippine President.
“Your Excellency, I have a letter for you from my daughter, a young doctor. I don’t know if Protocol would allow me to give you this letter,” I told her.
“Oh, never mind Protocol. Just give me the letter,” she said smiling.
When I asked for a selfie with her, she immediately showed the letter from my JB to the camera to prove that she received it.
“Let’s show her that I received it,” she said.
I thanked her profusely and said that I would be very happy to guide her to the different agricultural sites in the country should she come to the Philippines on the invitation of President Duterte.
What did my daughter write in her letter to the Myamar State Counsellor?
Honestly, I don’t know. I did not read it and did not ask her what her message was.
But I know that Dr. Josa Bernadette, whose older sister Ma. Krista is also a doctor like her, adores Aung San Suu Kyi and knowing that she is a very excellent writer, the letter would surely touch the Myanmar democracy icon.
Mission accomplished, anak.
