Missionary Agriculture! Drones Gamechanger In Upland Farming

Yesterday, in the highlands of Rangayen, Alamada, I and some friends showed farmers how fast a GPS-guided drone could spray herbicide to kill weeds in sloping agricultural areas where tractors could not be used.
They were endlessly amazed as the DJI Agras T30 drone covered 3 hectares in less than an hour.
That task would have taken them three days thus limiting their capacity to manually plant more crops.
Today, with the support of a friend, Julie Llamo of Better Yield Agri Supply and his partners who own Agri Drones, we will be fielding three DJI Agras T30 and T40 Drones, in the vast plateau of Teren-teren, Dado, Alamada.
The Iranun Clan which owns the vast area will plant Sorghum which SAAV Inc. will buy back.
We expect to cover over 100 hectares in one day.
The Agri Drones will be a game changer because when more areas cleared, farmers could expand their Zero-Tillage Farming.
Our small company, the Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc. chaired by former Senator Ping Lacson where I am the COO, offers them Sorghum Seeds on credit.
Even the cost for use of Agri Drones, herbicide and a mix of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizer is payable after harvest.
What makes Sorghum different from the other crops they planted is the Buy-Back Agreement at an agreed price.
With a pre-set price, farmers would now focus on increasing their production to increase their earnigs.
People who ask why at my age I still do this difficult task of traveling to remote areas to introduce modern agriculture technology should understand that I am the grandson and son of farmers who were never even helped by agriculture advocates or even government in the past.
I do this in their memory and to honor them.
