It is a joy to see Local Government Executives who lead Agricultural Innovations in their areas.
A few days ago, I visited the farm of Antipas, Cotabato Mayor Cristobal Cadungon and saw a beautiful model of the Inter-Cropping System.
In between the rows of his young Musang King Durian, Mayor Cadungon planted peanuts which could be harvested in 100 days.
During our meeting in his office, I was able to convince him that instead of Peanuts, he could plant Soybeans and Sorghum as intermediate crops.
He liked the idea and so all LGU-assisted Durian farms will be planting Soybeans and Sorghum.
While waiting for their Durian to be productive, farmers could earn from Sorghum and Soybeans which my group will buy at a pre-agreed price.
