Never give up! COMELEC REPLACES BALLOT AFTER ADMITTING MISTAKE

After my ballot was rejected by the VCM machine in my precinct in Paco, Kidapawan City, I asked the electoral board to replace it.

I fought for my right to vote especially so since my daughter and three siblings are involved in the race and mainly because I believe that a lifeless machine should not prevent me from exercising my Constitutional right to vote.

After waiting for over one hour, I politely asked the 3-person electoral board to first examine if I did anything wrong with my ballot to warrant the rejection.

After a thorough inspection of my ballot, the chairperson noticed that there was a ballpen marking on the edge of the ballot.

She admitted that in her haste, she may have accidentally caused the marking.

By unanimous decision, the 3-person board decided to give me a new ballot which was accepted by the machine.

Moral of the story? When you know you’re right, fight for it and never give up.
