New BAI OIC Director named! OFFICIALS IN AVIAN FLU CRISIS GET WELL DESERVED PROMOTION By Manny Piñol

Two officials of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) who figured prominently in containing the Avian Flu crisis in Pampanga two months ago will get higher positions in the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Dr. Ronnie Domingo, head of the Animal Health and Welfare Division, will be promoted to director and head BAI as OIC-Director.
Dr. Domingo, a former professor of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños and Central Luzon State University (CLSU), will take over BAI from Assistant Secretary Enrico Garzon who held the position in a concurrent capacity.
Taking over the AHWD is Dr. Arlene Vytiaco who will be promoted to head of a division.
Dr. Vytiaco teamed up with Dr. Domingo in leading the Avian Influenza Task Force in handling the first Bird Flu outbreak in the country which was contained in less than one month after it was confirmed.
The handling of the crisis was so swift that no less than President Rody Duterte congratulated the Agriculture Department for the decisive action that led to the containment of the outbreak.
Yesterday, I directed Dr. Garzon and Dr. Domingo to meet with me in my farm to share breakfast with me this.morning.
“Akala ko Sir pinatawag mo kami dahil may nagawa kaming mali,” an unbelieving Dr. Domingo told me after breakfast.
In my career in public service, I have always demanded for results and performance from.those who work for government.
I come down hard on those who do not perform but I also make sure that I reward those who deliver and those who show potentials.
