Today, Jan. 2, 2024, I welcomed the New Year by planting two new Soybeans varieties in two separate trial plots in my farm.
The seeds which came in two bags weighing 350grams each were given to me by Green and Grow Teknologies, Inc. to support my Soybeans production advocacy.
Since starting the program to plant and produce seeds of local Soybeans varieties, the Manchuria White and Tudela Black which came from Caraga Region, I had been searching for Non-GMO Soybeans seeds which may perform better than the ones I have.
The two new varieties – GZ 83 and GZ 111 – were planted today in the elevated plots which were established last week.
About 100 days from now, I would be able to determine if the seeds which came from India would perform well under Philippine conditions.
This is a study which must be conducted before new seeds are introduced locally.
