The idea that membership in a political party is limited only to people with political plans and ambitions will no longer hold true as PDP Laban North Cotabato opens its membership to young people, civic and religious leaders, farmers groups and professionals.
As part of the political reforms in North Cotabato, three membership seminars will be held for the three congressional districts of the province on Feb. 1, 2 and 3 which will be open to non-politicians who support President Rody Duterte and the Federalism Movement.
Speakers and lecturers include lawyer Aries Albay of the Office of Participatory Governance under the Office of the President and three PDP Laban trainers from Manila led by Team Leader Rufina Arcega along with Ferdinand Carpio and Ansary Maongco.
Atty. Albay will deliver a lecture on Federalism while Arcega, Carpio and Maongco will conduct membership orientation on the ideals of PDP Laban as a people’s political party.
While I have no personal political plans anymore, I accepted the challenge to lead President Duterte’s party in my province to institute political reforms and to once and for all end the practice of politicians of jumping from one party to another to ensure political survival.
This time, we will make sure that only those who believe in the ideals and vision of President Duterte and the PDP Laban would be accepted as members.
For those who plan to get involved with politics, membership in the Party would be a requirement to be an official candidate of the ruling party.
I am encouraging young people to join the party as we try to scout for future political leaders for our province.
For those who would like to listen to the lectures, here are the schedules:
– Feb. 1 – M’lang Gymnasium for the towns of Tulunan, M’lang, Matalam, Carmen and Kabacan;
– Feb. 2 – JC Complex, Kidapawan City for Makilala, Kidapawan City, Magpet, Pres. Roxas, Antipas and Arakan;
– Feb. 3 – Midsayap Municipal Gym in Pob. 6 for Banisilan, Alamada, Libungan, Pigcawayan, Midsayap, Aleosan and Pikit.
All the sessions will start at 8 a.m. and as Party Chairman for North Cotabato, I will be present in the opening ceremonies.
