From the foot of Mt. Matutum in Polomolok, South Cotabato where I witnessed our working crew spray fungicide and pesticide on our young Sorghum early this morning, I traveled back 130 kms. to check on our demo farm in Makilala, North Cotabato.
Most of the Sorghum planted July 1, 2022, already had full headgrains while the rest had started to bloom.
They are only 68 days old and judging by the stage of maturity of the grains, we may harvest earlier than 105 days which is the standard gestation period of hybrid grains Sorghum.
This is a great development because this would allow us three harvests in one year.
Even the owners of Scott Seed Company who visited the Philippines last week were impressed by the vigorous growth of Sorghum here.
