Opportunities Squandered!

Three years ago, on the instructions of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, I asked Israeli Ambassador Rafael Harpaz to help the Dept. of Agriculture access Israeli Technology and Funding for Solar-Powered Irrigation Systems.
Israel granted the request by offering a P44-B loan to build over 6,000 units of Solar Irrigation.
In fact, an Israeli company built two prototypes in Lumban, Laguna.
Today, three years later the loan proposal and the project has remained untouched by the NEDA-ICC.
Kung natupad itong project na ito, sana ngayon merong additional 500,000 hectares na may Solar Irrigation.
That could have increased our yearly rice production by 4-million metric tons.
This is a sad testimony to the anti-agriculture mindset of the Economic Team of the previous administration.
