South Cotabato, one of the six provinces carved out of the Empire Province of Cotabato, is proving to be the most ideal location for Soybeans farming.
I traveled to South Cotabato today to check on the progress of the Soybeans project being implemented by Organic Agriculture Advocate Renato “Atong” dela Cruz.
What I saw pleased me as the Soybeans planted about a month ago from out of the seeds I gave Atong were robust and healthy.
Atong and his group of Organic farmers have planted 15 hectares out of their target of 50 hectares initially.
All their produce will be purchased by Braveheart Farms and VetMate Farma Corp. under a Buy-Back Scheme.
Atong’s group targets 500 hectares this year, enough to produce seeds which could cover 20,000 hectares in the next planting season.
