FARMERS, FISHERMEN FIND
NEW CHAMPION IN BONG GO
M’lang, North Cotabato – Filipino farmers and fishermen have found an incoming champion in the Senate – Christopher “Bong” Go.
During his visit today in the Agricultural town of M’lang, birthplace of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, Go said he will introduce legislations which would benefit Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries and the country’s 10-million farming families.
His priority legislation is the establishment of a Pension Fund for farmers and fishermen who are too old to work.
“Kung ang empleyado ng gobyerno may GSIS at ang private sector workers may SSS, dapat ang mga magsasaka at mangngisda ay may pension din sa kanilang pagtanda,” Go said.
Go’s advocacy hits the nail on the head as the DA through the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp (PCIC) is now crafting a proposal for a Pension Fund for old farmers and fishermen.
The Senatorial candidate, who is now in the Magic 8, said he will make the Pension Fund for Farmers and Fishermen a priority legislative advocacy.
