PNG PINOYS GIVE PRRD A ROUSING WELCOME

Port Moresby, PNG – The huge Filipino community here in Port Moresby and the nearby provinces of Papua New Guinea last night gave President Rody Duterte a rousing reception when he arrived at the FilCom night here.

The President, who is one of the leaders who will attend the Asia Pacific Economic (APEC) Forum which will start today, was welcomed by Philippine Ambassador Bienvenido Tejano and over 1,000 Filipinos most of whom hold professional jobs.

President Duterte was joined by five Cabinet Secretaries- Carlos Dominguez of Finance, Manny Piñol of Agriculture, Ramon Lopez of Trade and Industry, Martin Andanar of the PCOO and Salvador Panelo, Presidential Spokesman.

In his message to the Filipinos in PNG, Pres. Duterte congratulated them for their contributions to their home country as well as the PNG.

Addressing PNG officials who were present, including Governor Allan Bird of East Sepik, President Duterte promised closer ties between the two countries.

He also said that the Philippines as ready to help PNG in the areas of health, education and agriculture.
