In our Sorghum planting program, we have adopted modern and practical technology which makes work easier, faster and more convenient.
For example, we have embraced a new fertilization technology introduced to us by Yara International, a Norwegian fertilizer company, which coats the Sorghum seeds with fertilizer and anti-ants formula before sowing.
The seeding is done by a GPS-Guided DJI Agras T30 Agri Drone along with the spraying of pesticides, herbicide, foliar fertilizer and the broadcast of granular fertilizer mix.
Critical in these operations is a locally-fabricated equipment called Micro-Mixer costing only P50,000 which makes the mixing of fertilizer and pest-repellant with the seeds easy.
It also allows the workers to mix the granular fertilizer without exposing themselves to the fumes and the dust which could be harmful.
The Micro-Mixer was designed and built by a Mindanao-based Filipino inventor, Engr. Rudy Cane, younger brother of Agusan del Sur Governor Santiago Cane.
Built using stainless sheets, the Micro-Mixer makes farm work lighter, easier and more convenient.
