We have started planting overgrown Betel Nuts seedlings in the farm as we prepare for the resumption of our Manok Pinoy breeding program.
We have hundreds of Betel Nut seedlings in our nursery which we were ready to share with other farmers.
Not very many, however, were aware of the importance of Betel Nut in free-range chicken raising so we were left with many overgrown seedlings which I just opted to plant in the periphery of the farm.
Betel Nut is a very effective organic dewormer and inexpensive too.
The farm boys slice one young Betel Nut into four parts and individually sinusubo sa mga manok on an empty crop at night.
We do this every 45 days, especially so since naka free-range ang mga manok.
For the biddies, however, we still use the water soluble dewormers kasi di nila kaya ang Betel Nut.
Puede din gamitin ang Betel Nut sa deworming ng small ruminants.
