A portion of my farm in Paco, Kidapawan City which had always been water-logged had been transformed into elevated garden plots where I could plant vegetables, including Onion.
This used to be just a soggy and grassy area which had not been used.
Two months ago, however, I came up with an idea of shaping elevated garden plots to avoid water-logging.
It was disc-plowed first, then harrowed and finally shaped using tractor-drawn implements.
On Jan. 2, two of the plots will be planted with two new varieties of Non-GMO Soybeans in a varietal trial.
The new Soybeans varieties came from India and the trials will determine if they will perform well in our ecosystem and climate.
