After the long holidays when the farm workers visited the graves of loved ones, I was alarmed to see our Soybeans drowning in tall reeds locally know as “Bugang.”
Apparently, our weed control program was not able to neutralize the pesky weeds.
As my last option to save the crops, up to 30 farm workers were engaged to do manual weeding.
Outstanding rice farmer calls it the “10 Fingers” solution.
It is an expensive option but it is the only option to save the Soybeans.
Today, visiting the Demo Farm in Luvimin, Kidapawan City, I was happy to see the Soybeans liberated from the weeds and recovering vigorously.
