Before Raising Goats,
Ensure Silage Supply
In the brief visit of former world boxing champion Marlon Tapales to my farm on Easter Sunday, I did my best to share with him lessons which he needed as he prepares to venture into farming.
After he mentioned that he looked forward to raising goats, I led him to my silage bunker and the goat house where I have about 30 goats.
The most important lesson I shared with him was to make sure that there is a sustainable and sufficient supply of Silage and feeds before he ventures into goat raising.
Sustainable and sufficient supply of feeds had been the causes of the failure of many animal dispersal programs of government.
Raising animals without making sure that there is enough supply of silage is a ticket to failure.
