Even before I could mass produce planting materials of my “Saging Tindok,” the Department of Agriculture is already crafting plans on how to support this new commercial crop.
A team from the DA Research Center based in Balindog, Kidapawan City came to my farm today to gather more information on “Saging Tindok” (sn: Musa paradisiaca var. magna).
I recommended that they focus their studies on Tindok Chips.
For their study control, I suggested they use the imported potato chips.
The comparative study should look into:
1. Taste and nutritional value;
2. Comparative price;
3. Impact on the food security and rural poverty alleviation.
I am glad that the DA now is pro-active.
