Last week, I wrote about the need for at least P500-B Economic Recovery Fund to help the middle class who lost their businesses because of the COVID 19 restrictions recover immediately and contribute to the economic growth.
This was validated during a recent visit I made to the Cloverleaf Market in Balintawak, Quezon City where I talked with a young businesswoman whose family owns a stall in the fish section.
She said they were forced to borrow from loan sharks who ask for a P2,000 interest every two months for a P5,000 loan to finance their Bangus buy and sell.
This very high interest rate is passed on to the consumers who buy the Bangus at a higher price.
