Long before I became a Traveler, I had always loved traveling.
My travels made me a wiser man and I discovered a lot in the new places I had been to.
Today, in the remote town of North Upi, Maguindanao, I found what I had long been looking for – the Breadfruit, also known as “Rimas” and “Kolo.”
We were actually planting Sorghum in our Demo Farm in Barangay Darugao when I saw a “Tipulo” tree which belongs to the same family as the “Breadfruit.”
When I asked farmers if they knew of any breadfruit in the area, one farmer, Jojo Rodriguez, said he planted one 4 years ago and it is now bearing fruit.
He said he got his sprouted root from another farmer, Gogoy Pedalizo.
I was so excited with the information and asked Jojo to show me his Breadfruit.
After seeing his breadfruit, I asked him to help me propagate planting materials.
Dream realized and it only came true because I traveled.
