Real talk! Don’t Blame The Poor For Sins Of The Rich!

My post on the forest cover shrinkage in Mindanao over the last 100 years has generated varied reactions and different views.

While most tagged big logging concessions for the massive deforestation, some blame the poor marginal farmers and kaingeros for the environmental damage.

I disagree.

If all of these encroachments snd cutting of trees in the forests were done by poor cultivators and kaingeros, they would be as rich as the logging concessionaires now.
