Rediscovering Cotabato Natural Rubber Industry

One hundred twenty years after it was introduced to the Philippines via the Southern Back Door, Mindanao’s Natural Rubber Industry remains a fledgling and neglected agro-industrial commodity.
It is one of the victims of a largely Centralized Economic Development Planning where the decision makers fail to appreciate the importance of the rubber industry.
In this edited portion of “Tuklas Yaman,” a television program which I am co-producing with People’s Television Network, I share with the followers of this page the vast potentials of this tree.called “Cauchoc” or the Crying Tree by the Indians of the Amazon Jungles.
