Resilient Crop! Sorghum Performs Well In Spite Of Long Dry Spell

The first drone-seeded Sorghum we planted in Polomolok, South Cotabato had shown amazing resilience not only to worms and fungal attack but most of all a 15-day dry spell.
Planted on Aug. 14 at 500 meters above sea level, Sorghum faced its first test when it did not rain for two weeks, effectively delaying granular fertilizer application.
Sorghum is actually drought resilient needing only 25% of the water requirement of corn.
When it finally rained, worms and fungus appeared and attacked the leaves.
Timely drone spraying using the DJI Agras T30 Agri Drone addressed the worm and fungal attack.
The drone was also efficiently used in spraying foliar fertilizer.
Today, Sept. 27, the Sorghum is growing well and is expected to be harvested by the end of November this year.
