RICE MECHANIZATION IN ACTION / The Department of Agriculture-Caraga turns over this afternoon 110 units of mechanical rice transplanters to 110 farmers association and cooperatives from the different provinces in the region with a total worth of P30.4 million.

Just in time for the year’s first cropping season, DA responds to the call of our rice farmers to make their farming more productive and less laborious by granting them with modern farm facilities. Mechanizing our rice farms will help reduce cost thereby increasing farmers’ income. Research asserts that farm machines can cut labor expenses, which eats up the highest production cost in rice farming. A day before the distribution, recipients were also given free training on the operation and maintenance of the rice transplanter.

Under the new administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the leadership of Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, farm facilities are now given as Grant to eligible farmers association and cooperatives.
