Pagadian City (Late Post) – Whatever will be the outcome of my bid for the Senate this year, my advocacy to help the country achieve Food Sufficiency will continue.
This was the commitment I made to Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victoriano Yu during my visit to his province last Saturday along with Filipino-American farmer scientist Rocky French.
I brought Rocky French with me in a long travel along the coastal areas of the Moro Gulf to show him the vast potentials of the area for Aqua Culture and Fish Cage Farming.
Together with the provincial government of Zamboanga del Sur, Rocky and I will help establish a village-level feed mill to produce Aqua Feeds, along with livestock and poultry feeds.
Rocky and I visited the newly-established Tilapia Hatchery of the provincial government with Provincial Fisheries Officer Bobby Arcenal.
Rocky made so many recommendations and one of which was to bring Arcenal and his team to the modern hatchery of the Department of Agriculture Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Bongabon, Oriental Mindoro which was established with the help of French when I was Secretary of Agriculture.
I also committed to Gov. Yu that I would help his province establish a nursery for high value crops, especially the famous Abuyog Sweet Jackfruit, and the Giant Bamboo.
But I have always believed in the saying: “Everything happens for a reason.”
Ano man ang darating tatanggapin ko dahil alam ko na iyon ang kagustohan ng Panginoon.
