In today’s concluding series of the Rocky French Lecture Series on the production of natural Urea from snails and Malunggay leaves, he brings us to his unusual garden where he grows vegetables in pots without soil and no commercial fertilizer.
Using one empty concrete pond where he used to raise Tilapia until COVID 19 paralyzed his fishpond operations in the middle of the desert of Coachella Valley, Rocky has lined up concrete boxes where he grows vegetables using Coconut Fiber or Coco Peat with virtually no expense.
He just keeps the cement floor moist through the drippings of the Natural Nitrates from pipes installed in the circumferential wall of the pond.
In the pots, he grows Lettuce, Okra, Tomatoes, Zuchini, Squash and Pechay which he claims to be purely organic.
Using a dilution of 1 gallon of Natural Nitrates produced by the Golden Kuhol fed with Malunggay leaves, with 5 gallons of water, Rocky shows that an urban family with limited space could grow vegetables by simply using the Natural Nitrates and Coco Peat.
This is a model which housewives living in the urban areas could copy to produce their own fresh vegetables which they could harvest in the morning to prepare salad.
After this video series, I will print the texts of the articles, add some illustrations, especially on the making of the Golden Kuhol tubs so that it could be done by urban dwellers.
