Responding to requests from farmers of Pigcawayan town in North Cotabato for more information on Sorghum and Soybeans Farming, a forum will be held in Barangay Kimarayag on June 1, Saturday.
The forum is being organized by former DA Regional Director Mila Casis who is helping me with my advocacies in Agriculture and Food Security.
Just as in our previous engagements, the forum will start at 8 a.m. with the following activities:
1. Presentation of the Integrated Farming Program for Pigcawayan, North Cotabato – Former Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol;
2. Sorghum Farming Protocols – Agriculturist Julie Llamo, Better Yield Agri;
3. Soybeans Farming Protocols – Agriculturist Genevieve Bangcaya, Braveheart Farms & Nursery;
4. Farmers’ Testimony on Sorghum Resilience to Drought – Farmer Samuel Alim, former Vice Mayor, Alamada, North Cotabato;
5. Cattle and Goat Raising using Sorghum Silage for Feeding – Outstanding OFW Arnel Corpuz (or representative);
6. Actual Demonstration on Silage-Making – by Technical Team, Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc.;
7. Open Forum
Pigcawayan farmers are also encouraged to submit soil samples for on-field tests and analysis which will be conducted by the Braveheart Farms and Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc. technical team.
