‘Siling Labuyo’ Challenge!

There was a time when a kilo of ‘Siling Labuyo’ or native hot pepper was sold for P1,000 in the market.
It was a controversial national issue na sinakyan ng mga politiko to criticize government.
At that time, I was the Secretary of Agriculture at ang sagot ko was:
“Pati ba naman pagtanim ng Siling Labuyo iaasa pa ninyo sa Gobyerno?”
Sabi ko, sa farm ko epot lang ng ibon ang nagpatubo ng ‘Siling Labuyo.’
Maraming nagreact at nagalit dahil barumbado daw ako sumagot.😃
Pero real talk lang, katamaran lang actually ang pinapairal natin.
Here, I am showing you how easy it is to plant ‘Siling Labuyo.’
When you buy ‘Siling Labuyo’ in the market, take one of the red ripe fruits, squeeze it to get the seeds out.
Dry it and after two days, plant the seeds in an earthen or broken plastic pail filled with soil and compost.
After awhile, you will have an endless supply of ‘Siling Labuyo.’
Remember this, before we bark up at government and blame it for the things we don’t have, let us ask ourselves:

“Have I done my part?”
Government could not provide us with everything.
