Small Talk Could Lead To Big Undertakings!

Last week, while waiting for a short meet-and-greet with Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., I had a huddle with Undersecretary Jerome Oliveros, who handles Foreign-funded projects and DV Savellano of the National Poultry and Livestock, along with Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Director Glenn Pangapalan.
Usec. Oliveros mentioned that his office was looking for projects, especially in the Bangsamoro Region for ODA-funding.
I shared with them the vast potentials of the Liguasan and Libungan-Torreta Marsh where I frequently pass through.
The vast water-covered periphery of the marshes could be production areas of Freshwater Lobster and other native species in floating fish cages.
That information led to an intense discussion on the great contribution of the proposed projects to Food Production and Poverty Reduction.
This week, experts will visit the towns of Datu Piang and Kabuntalan to start working on a humongous food security program which started with just a small talk.
