Stand-off in M’lang POLICE CORNER ARMED MEN SUSPECTED OF BUYING VOTES

Policemen in my hometown Mlang, North Cotabato have cornered several men believed to be armed and suspected of distributing money for vote buying operations tonight.
The men arrived in Barangay New Kalibo on board a white pick up and proceeded to the barangay hall early tonight.
Alert residents reported the presence of the men to Mlang Vice Mayor Joselito Piñol who proceeded to the area accompanied by policemen.
Even after policemen asked the men to come out, they remained inside the vehicle.
An aide to a top provincial official reportedly called up the police chief and asked that the men be allowed to leave.
The police chief rejected the request.
On the advice of a judge who said that the policemen could search the vehicle even without a court issued search warrant.
Policemen are now poised to force open the vehicle after reading the unidentified men their Miranda rights.
Kidapawan City based media men have been asked to proceed to the area to document.
