idapawan City – Sunday is supposed to be my rest day in the farm but as a public servant I know that there are no Sundays for me.
Today, I received a group of Coconut Industry stakeholders who brought with them great news for our coconut farmers.
The shipment of young coconuts to China will start next week.
(Next week, we will launch the marketing of young coconuts in San Jose, California.)
Also, the market for mature dehusked coconut is waiting for the first shipment.
John Tan, a Chinese businessman married to a Filipina and who was with the group which visited me in my farm today, said he is also interested in signing a long term marketing agreement with Filipino coconut farmers.
He said Filipino farmers could expand their aromatic variety coconut as there is a huge and almost insatiable market in China.
I assured him that I will link him up with coconut farmers.
