One of the reasons why I am upbeat on the prospects of Cattle Fattening and Goat and Sheep Raising is the expected abundant supply of Silage as we promote the planting of Sorghum.
Sorghum is a unique crop because at harvest, the stalks and leaves remain green.
One hectare of harvested Sorghum could yield enough Silage to feed 20 heads of Cattle or 100 Goats or Sheep for one year.
So, rather than just leave the stalks to rot in the field, our small company Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc. Is teaching farming families how to prepare Silage.
Kept in anaerobic containers, the Sorghum Silage could last for five years.

(These videos sent to me by China manufacturing companies show how Silage is cut and wrapped in plastic to be kept for years.)
