In fact, we could even be a major food producer but we have to reset our priorities and pass enabling legislations and policies to support our food production sector.
Dependence on importation is the worst policy that our economic managers had adopted because not only does it dampen the enthusiasm of our farmers, fishermen and agri entrepreneurs to produce, it also deprives our people of income opportunities and jobs.
I understand these problems and I have the solutions culled from field experiences as a farmer and as a local executive.
The Senate is the best venue to present the roadmap to Food Self-Sufficient Philippines.
