TD USMAN DAMAGE NEARS P1-B

SYNOPSIS

Damages and losses from Tropical Depression “Usman” has increased from P431.21 million to P816.17 million with an estimated volume of 18,634 metric tons and damaged agricultural areas at 40,075 hectares affecting 36,902 farmers and fisherfolks. The increase in overall values is attributed to the reports in rice, corn, high value crops, livestock, fisheries and irrigation facilities in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Northern Samar and Samar.

Please note that the 12NN update does not include the report from Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) due to lack of details on the value of production loss with only the area affected being reported. As of today, the increase in values now includes P124.90M worth of rice, vegetables and livestock with 5,385 hectares of damaged agricultural areas affecting 5,921 farmers in Eastern Visayas alone.
