Yesterday, using a friend’s helicopter, I flew to Arakan town and landed in the playgrounds of the Greenfield Central School.
As soon as I got off the helicopter, I was endlessly impressed by the respect shown by young children who rushed towards me to kiss my hand.
In a display of simple innocence, the children then gathered around me and raised their hands on cue just in time for my brother, Ferdinand, to capture this beautiful picture.
This display of respect for elders is no longer seen in the urban areas.
But out there in the remote areas of the country, children still hang on to the age old value of respect for elders.
