Although my daughters do not have any inclination towards politics, they are now starting to discover that joy of serving the people, especially the poor because of their involvement in the medical and surgical missions that I am staging in many parts of the province.
Last Saturday, Feb. 2, the two girls spent the whole day working with the Maharlika Medical Foundation staff in Barangay Bannawag, Kabacan where over 400 patients were served.
The eldest daughter, Maria Krista, a licensed medical practitioner who is now undergoing residency specialization in Family Medicine, and her younger sibling, Josa Bernadette, who is in second year of medicine proper, said they had a great experience serving the poor people in the Bannawag Medical and Surgical mission.
Both Dr. Maria Krista and Josa Bernadette are licensed nurses.
When I arrived at the Bannawag public market yesterday where almost a thousand people gathered for the medical/surgical mission, both girls were deeply engrossed with their jobs.
Dr. Maria Krista was giving free consultation and check up while Josa Bernadette was dispensing the free medicines courtesy of Sen. Chiz Escudero.
Last night when they came home, they were obviously very tired as I did not even notice them go to their bedrooms to take a rest.
But early this morning, they woke up with a big smile on their faces and so many stories to tell about their joy in serving the people.
