Hindi ko pinanood in its entirety ang Presidential Interviews conducted by Jessica Soho last night but I made sure to check on the critical questions posed for the four candidates – Vice President Leni Robredo, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Mayor Isko Moreno.
Honestly, I felt so frustrated afterwards.
Pinag-usapan ang Fake News at programa para sa vaccination but nobody asked how the next President of the Philippines plans to feed the 110-million Filipinos and the next generation.
Successful and effective governance starts with Food-sufficient and nutritious food because it will nurture healthy citizens who in turn will be productive and whose productivity will result in prosperity of the country.
Nalungkot ako dahil kinaligtaan ang pinakamahalagang bagay na syang nangangahulugan ng buhay at kabuhayan ng mga Pilipino.
At the same time, I felt fear creeping in my heart because with the mindset that our media and social media influencers have right now which is focused on temporary problems and front-page issues, how do we survive as a nation?
The Presidential candidates could not be faulted because they only responded to the fielded questions.
Looking back to the day when I decided to drop everything that I was doing and vie for a Senate seat, I believe I made the pivotal judgment on which direction to go in the remaining years of my life.
I will not be your Superman or the Knight in Shining Armor, but with God’s grace and blessings, tayo ang magbibigay kasagutan sa tanong na hindi nasama sa Presidential Interviews: Paano pakakainin ang 110-million Filipinos and the next generation?
We know the answer to the question that was never asked and we will help the next President understand this and give focus to food production and food sufficiency.
