This morning, I read the revised story of Inquirer reporter Orlando Dinoy of an earlier post where I allegedly said that the President had lost trust in me and that I was on the way out.
This was actually in complete contrast to my recorded extemporaneous speech during the inauguration of North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco where I shared with her my thoughts on how to confront issues and problems.
I cited that in December last year, when rumours spread that I made money in the transactions of the National Food Authority, I submitted myself to a lifestyle check by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission which cleared me after a 7-month intensive probe.
I also said that when media reports said that President Rody Duterte had lost trust in me and was not satisfied with my performance, I confronted the problem by submitting a letter asking that I be relieved as Secretary of Agriculture, which the President has not acted on until today.
During my speech I said that officials in government are answerable to those who gave us the mandate, in her case the electorates of North Cotabato, and in my case, the President who appointed me.
“Whatever, whatever, wherever. I am a soldier of the President and I will fight wherever he assigns me. That should be our attitude as government officials. We do not have Torrens title to the position we are holding right now,” I said in my speech.
This Inquirer story does not satisfy me because it appears that ako pa ang nagkulang ng paliwanag kaya hindi naintindihan ng reporter ang ibig kong sabihin.
Sa hailp na sabihin nagkamali ng pandinig ang reporter nila and nagkamali ang editor nila because they did not validate the story before publishing it, they are now making it appear that I am correcting myself so that I would be better understood.
Nasaan ang hustisya?
Kayo ang nagkamali, tapos ako ang may kasalanan.
Sorry, but I will take legal action against the Philippine Daily Inquirer, especially the reporter Orlando Dinoy.
I will ask my lawyers to initiate the action today.
