Bananas from Cotabato Province and fresh fish from Davao del Sur will be among the agriculture and fisheries products which will be sold at farm gate prices during the TienDA sa Cordillera on April 27 to 28.
About 10 metric tons of fresh Lacatan Bananas from Kidapawan City and Bangus, Kitang and Danggit from the fish cages of Malalag, Davao del Sur will be available during the 2-day TienDA.
The 2-day TienDA sa Cordillera will be held at the BAPTC Vegetable Trading Center in the Benguet State University Campus in La Trinidad, Benguet.
The event will coincide with the National Workshop of all key agencies under the Dept. of Agriculture as it prepares for the implementation of major policy shifts, including the nationwide implementation of the Easy Access Financing.
Also available in the TienDA are newly-milled rice from Central Luzon farmers and other products not normally available in the Highlands.
Agricultural and Fisheries trading between the Cordillera and the Southern Philippines is expected to be boosted by the staging of the TienDA.
The TienDA is an advocacy of the DA handled by the Agribusiness and Marketing Office headed by Undersecretary Berna Romulo-Puyat to link farmers and fishermen with consumers to bring down the cost of food commodities in the market.
