One important factor in farming is constant monitoring of the crops to be able to assess problems and undertake immediate interventions.
Two days ago, I discovered that fruit-sucking insects were attacking our Soybeans in our Demo Farm in New Esperanza, Mlang.
Immediately, we consulted experts to determine what type of insecticides would be effective.
Nick Ronquillo of BASF, who visited our Soybeans field earlier, recommended Stampede and Fastac.
As soon as we procured the insecticides, spraying was undertaken early yesterday morning.
Ideally, dapat sa gabi ang spraying operations but the endless evening rains in the area prevented us from doing that.
Stampede and Fastac proved to be very effective because shortly after the spraying operations, green stinky bugs and other pests turned belly-up.
The operations will resume after 7 days to totally protect the crops from harmful insects.
Kung hindi ko nadalaw ang farm, malamang malaking damage ang gagawin ng mga insekto.
Hindi talaga puede ang part-time farming.
