In the sunset of my life, I feel immense joy knowing that my advocacies in agriculture will be safely passed on the next generations in my family.
My third child, Bernhart Immanuel, 22, is a veterinary student in the University of Southern Mindanao and is passionate about farming.
Most of all, my two grandsons, children of my eldest daughter, Dr. Maria Krista and her husband Chito Solis, are showing deep love for their pets and the chicken in the farm.
When I told them last night that I will have a flock of cockerels and pullets to be moved to the ranging area near their home, they woke up early and fed the fowls.
My grandsons, Duane, 10, and Kristoff, 3, joined me in the ranging area today before leaving for school.
The sight of the two young boys enjoying the sight of cockerels and pullets chasing insects and foraging for worms gave me immeasurable joy!
