TURMERIC EFFECTS? AT 61, MY BP IS 110/70

By Manny Piñol
After suffering from severe lower back pains last week, I decided to check into the Brokenshire Hospital in Davao City where my daughter, Josa Bernadette, is finishing her 1-year medical internship program.
Tests were made – ultrasound and x-rays – to determine the cause of the back pain.
Dr. Adie Sorongon, a relative who is a known urologist, checked the results of the tests and declared that my prostate was normal, the kidneys were good and that there was no reason to conclude that the back pains were caused by internal problems.
“Your problem could be musculo-skeletal,” he told me and I confirmed to him that I had this problem of severe back pain since the day I slipped on a moss-covered log while visiting the Enchanted River in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur many years ago.
He endorsed me to Dr. Tommy Bangayan who recommended that I undergo an MRI to determine the cause of the back pains.
What was surprising though was the result of the stress test which was conducted after the ultrasound and the x-rays.
Assisted by a nurse, Sangsang Pusta, I completed Level 6 of the stress test and was declared 100% fit.
What I could not believe, however, were the Blood Pressure indicators monitored during the stress tests.
My average BP when the tests ended was 110 over 70 and I am 61 years old.
This was surprising because I have always had problems with an erratic BP and even when I was taking maintenance medicines, there were times when it would shoot up to 130 over 90.
What could have changed my average BP?
Two months ago, I started mixing Turmeric and Moringa granules with my early morning coffee. I am one hell of a coffee drinker as I would have at least 4 mugs in the morning and sometimes even skip breakfast.
My friend, Ben Lao, whose farm produces Turmeric Tea, Moringa Tea, Ginger Tea and Coconut Sugar, convinced me to use Turmeric Tea because he received anecdotal testimonies from people who used it and said it lowered their Blood Pressure.
Does Turmeric Tea really work wonders on an ageing man’s body and blood pressure?
If you ask me, I would say Yes because what explanation could there be for the incredible 110 over 70 BP that I have now.
While this is largely an anecdotal testimony on the efficacy of health products like Turmeric Tea, Ginger Tea, Moringa Tea and Coco Sugar, I believe there is no harm trying it yourself.
By the way, I am sharing this not because I want to brag about by low BP but because I would like others to learn from my personal experiences hoping it would also help them.
